Not A Big Storm But Some Accumulations for the AM Commute

It’s not a big storm but most of the area should expect some accumulating snow into early Friday morning. The timing will be from about 11PM through 9AM.  A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 11PM-8AM for Southern and Cenrtal Maine.  10PM- Noon Downeast.
Advisory

Initially temperatures look to warm to support snow along the southern coastal plain but a transition to snow is likely into the early morning hours. It should be snowing for a large portion of the area for the first half of the Friday morning commute which may lead to some slippery roadways.
commute

Expect the snow to end by late morning s for most areas followed by a rapid return to some sun. With brighter afternoon skies, temperatures should warm into the low 40s resulting in lots of melting.

Accumulations look light with the jackpot expected to be over eastern Maine.

Friday night will be a cold night in Vacationland. Lows will dip into the teens and 20s for most of the area. Full sun will make a return on Saturday but temperatures will have a hard time getting out of the 30s. More clouds will arrive on Sunday and I can’t rule out a snow shower, esp. in the mountains. Our next storm will move in on Monday and based on today’s forecast, it should bring a wintry mix to the area. The greatest chance for accumulating snow with that one will be inland Maine and New Hampshire. Temperatures will remain below normal for the foreseeable future.
